TestGen Installation Instructions
1. Login into coursecompass at Once you are in
coursecompass, find the Testgen link on the right side of the page.
2. Click on the link “Learn about TestGen”.
3. Scroll down and click on the yellow button that says “Download New Version”
4. Scroll down to installation instructions and click on Windows(.zip file), then click open to run the installer.
5. Once the installer starts running, a window will open and you will see the file tgsetup.exe
6. Right click on this file and select open, then click run.
- You will be prompted with a series of screens. Unless you want to do a custom installation, continue to click “next or yes”.
- After the last screen installs, you will be asked to restart the computer. If you fail to restart your computer, the installation will not be complete.
- Once you are through, check your desktop for the TestGen icon. If it is not there, then your installation failed, and you need to re-install TestGen.

Installation of TestGen Testbanks
1. Login into coursecompass at Once you are in coursecompass, find the Testgen link on the right side of the page. Click on the link “Learn about TestGen”.
2. On the left hand side you will see a link that says download Testbanks. Click the link.
3. Choose the correct publisher and click the link.
4. Type in the Author’s name or the title of the textbook, then click search,
5. From your Author’s list of textbooks find the textbook you need, then click on the link.
6. You will see picture of the textbook. If the book is the correct one, then proceed forward, if not go back and search for the correct one.
7. On the left hand side of the page, under resources, click on the Instructor link.
8. Scroll down near the bottom and find the TestGen link. Depending upon your computer either choose download compressed files for Mac or download compressed files for PC’s. and click the appropriate link.
9. When you click on this link it will take you to a sign in screen. Use your MML userid and password to login again.
10. Once you have logged in, click on proceed with download, then click open. Your file will be downloaded and appear in a window.
11. Drag the file to your desktop. Example of file names are: EAIA2C.BOK
Installation of the Testbank file into your TestGen Library.
1. Open TestGen, then click on File, then click on “Add Testbank to Library”.
2. A drop down box will appear. Click on the drop down box and find the desktop entry, then click
3. Find the Testbank file you downloaded and click on it. You should see it in the file name section now. Click open and the file will download to the TestGen Library.
