Attention Senior Parents:

The FAFSA (Free application for Federal Student Aid) is available online at Forms should be completed and submitted as soon as possible. You can find general information about federal student aid by going to StudentAid.gov/resources. Also, Funding Your Education: The Guide to Federal Student Aid helps students and parents understand the financial aid process.

Some colleges require the PROFILE application for financial aid. Visit . Please click on “CSS/Financial Aid Profile”. If you would like to receive instructions to help you prepare to apply for financial aid, please select Interactive Instructions. Please check college websites for FAFSA submission deadlines.

Caution: There are imitations of FAFSA online that charge a fee and are scams. The FAFSA is a free service and you should only use the link above.

Senior parents frequently ask about the availability of scholarships for college. We want to make sure you are up to date with what is being presented to our seniors.Please review the scholarship list/opportunities on Naviance with your senior. Scholarship Opportunities are alsoposted in the guidance office.

Many seniors submitted college applications before break and their transcripts, reports and letters of recommendation were electronically submitted via Naviance to meet their deadlines. The next deadline we need to watch for is January 15, 2018. Any applications (college or scholarship) due on that date should be in the guidance office by January 11, 2018.

Students should bring in all college acceptance and scholarship letters. Scholarships are listed in the graduation program but we require a copy for verification.

If your senior plans to play sports at a Division I or II college (or even thinks they might), he/she should register with the NCAA Clearinghouse online at They must notify the guidance office and request a transcript be sent to the NCAA Eligibility Center.

January Regents EXAM:

Students signed up for Regents examinations in January will receive a reminder from their counselor. Tutoring is strongly recommended prior to a Regents exam retake.
