Test Correction Policy

For every chapter test, you will be allowed to do optional test corrections. The following are guidelines.

  1. Test correction must be done in school – at lunch or before school.
  2. Test corrections are due a week from the day that the test was returned.
  3. The due date for test corrections is firm. Do NOT expect extensions.
  4. For each multiple choice or fill-in type questions, you must include the following parts (label a-d)
  5. What did you get wrong? State the number on the test and paraphrase the questions.
  6. What was the correct answer?
  7. Explain why this is the correct answer and why your answer was wrong.
  8. Determine where you should have learned this information. Cite a date in your notes or page in the textbook or handout.

For ESSAY/SHORT ANSWER/PROBLEM-SOLVING, each test correction consists of the following parts:

(Label your answer with a-d in your correction.)

a. Paraphrase the question.

b1. Write the correct answer for the part of the essay you missed if you lost less than 50% of the credit for the problem.

Or

b2. Rewrite the entire essay question if you lost at least 50% of the credit for the problem.

c. Determine where you should have learned this information. Cite a date in your notes or page in the textbook.

d. State how you can improve your learning process. BE SPECIFIC.

CREDIT:

1. 10% of total points can be earned in test corrections, or 1/2 of missed points, whichever is less.

For example: an original test score of 73% can be raised to 83%, and an original score of 88% can be raised to 94% (lost 12 pts, 6pts added back for test corrections).

2. Students must correct all mistakes on the test to qualify for test correction credit.

3. Original test MUST be stapled to the back of the corrections.
