In a continued bid to tell the story of children and UNICEF in Eastern and Southern Africa, a social media consultant is required to take full advantage of new social networks, new influencers, and to feedback to UNICEF staff in countries on how best to tell their stories on the multitude of social media platforms.

In addition, the Regional Management Team (RMT) in ESA selected five main priorities based on their relevance and significance for the majority of countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. The five priorities, aim to ensure that children survive and thrive; stunting is reduced, quality education outcomes, enhanced results for adolescents and the design and delivery of child sensitive social protection systems across the region. While these priorities build on previous investments and achievements in the region, comprehensive Communication and Advocacy strategies have been designed to build political will, position the priorities among numerous stakeholders and ultimately demonstrate results by the end of 2017. The Social Media consultant will use current and new social media platforms to support the advocacy goals of the regional priorities.
