DIRECTIONS TO TENNESSEE DOT OFFICES:
(James K. Polk Building/Performing Arts Center)
· Coming into Nashville from the south on I-65 at about mile marker 82, bear right onto I-265, then bear left at the I-24/I-40 junction.
· Pass Shelby Street exit and then leave the interstate by the James Robertson Parkway exit which loops and carries you under I-65/I24 toward Nashville.
· Cross the Cumberland River and pass the Metropolitan Nashville Courthouse on the left and the domed Sheriff’s Department Building on the right (the first signal light).
· Turn left at the third signal light beyond the river (4th Avenue – one way street moving south). The Municipal Auditorium (a large domed building) will be ahead on the left-hand side at the third light.
· For economical parking, you may want to park in the Municipal Auditorium Garage – if it isn’t full – by simply crossing 4th Avenue at the garage entrance.)
· If you don’t park in the garage, turn left onto 4th Avenue, and turn right at the next light onto Charlotte Avenue.
· Turn left into the paved commercial parking lot behind and to the side of the church ahead on your left. This lot touches Charlotte Avenue, 5th Avenue (one way street moving north) and Deaderick Street.
· There is also a commercial parking lot at 5th Avenue and Charlotte.
· The front entrance of our building is between 5th and 6th Avenues on Deaderick Street. Sometimes you can find an open parking meter in front of our building on Deaderick, but the maximum stay is thirty minutes per deposit.
· Visitors must stop by the security desk there in the lobby of the ground floor of our building.
· The high-rise elevators are beyond the security desk. The first set of four elevators take you to floors 1 through 7. The second set of four elevators take you to floor 7 through 18.
