Ten years, One community

Florida Prosperity Partnership

10th Annual Statewide Training Conference

Request for Session Proposals

Please join Florida Prosperity Partnership May 30-June 1, 2018, as nearly 300 or more participants acknowledge ten years of serving Florida’s economic stability and prosperity initiatives together for collective impact at the FPP Tenth Annual Statewide Training Conference.

Why “FPP One-O: Ten Years, One Community”?

Florida Prosperity Partnership, a 501(c)3 founded in 2008, celebrates its tenth year of convening professionals annually from many diverse disciplines who share one common purpose: to promote economic stability and financial prosperity for all Floridians.

The 2018 conference will be held for the first time at the Loews Royal Pacific Hotel at Universal Orlando, which naturally led to a hint of Polynesian theming and a nod to the classic and current television show, Hawaii Five-0.

Further, the island culture inspires metaphors of the importance of community when serving others. Many grains of sand coming together to form the beach. Many drops of water coming together to form the ocean. Catching the wave of prosperity. Recognizing that a rising tide serves all.

All these remind us that it takes a community of caring individuals to come together, share ideas, work together, offer unique skills, experiences and insights, and generate collective impact far greater than any of us alone can create. And that is the “island way” the FPP Tenth Annual Statewide Training Conference promises to share.

By submitting a workshop proposal for the only learning and connection event of its kind in the state of Florida wholly focused on financial stability, you may also be part of helping serve those who serve, support, guide, partner and advocate for financial well-being for all Floridians! You will also become a part of the community embracing the culture of the islands, and sharing in common purpose!

FPP Conference Program Content Guidelines

The FPP Conference Planning Committee seeks session proposals that introduce new ideas and model practices, convey useful strategies, identify lessons learned, and strengthen participants’ existing knowledge and skills.

Preferred consideration will be given to sessions that use a facilitated, interactive approach to the content, sessions where the participants become an active part of the learning through small and large group discussions, skill practice, Q and A sessions, activities and more.

Sessions should include a balance of “air time” between facilitators and participants. This expectation for 2018 is based upon feedback provided from past participants requesting more opportunity to engage and connect with others. FPP believes this can and should occur within concurrent sessions. The facilitator ensures this occurs by doing more than merely “presenting” during the entire session.

Session facilitators are also encouraged to consider developing resources and materials that encourage further participant interaction with questions, fill-in-the-blank items, and white space for note-taking.

Session content that aligns in some way with the FPP Platforms for Prosperity, including where Floridians Live, Learn, Work, Bank, Start Businesses, Get Healthy, Receive Social Services and Worship, will also be given deeper consideration. This may include how services can be integrated into other Platforms, and/or using the Platforms to drive behavioral change.

Finally, session topics that align with the FPP strategic initiatives of a) influencing change in financial behaviors and decision-making; b) promoting generational roles in financial stability; and c) optimizing community-based initiatives and relationship-based products and services, will be given additional attention.

FPP conference sessions will be 60, 75 or possibly 90 minutes long for specific master sessions.

Sessions are ideally led by no more than one to three co-facilitators.

RFP Submission Guidelines

¨  The attached Request for Proposal form must be used for all submissions.

¨  Proposals should not include per diem, honoraria, or expenses.

¨  If selected as a session facilitator, agreement to provide electronic copies of slide deck and distributed materials for the session by May 18, 2018, is required so participants can electronically access session content prior to arrival at the conference.

¨  Sales “pitches” of any sort are discouraged.

¨  Session material should be original; otherwise, sources are to be referenced.

The RFP Evaluation Process

FPP Conference Planning Committee members will evaluate all proposed sessions based on the following criteria:

¨  Overall quality

¨  Relevance to FPP conference participants

¨  Well-defined focus

¨  Practical application of learning content

¨  Alignment with FPP Platforms for Prosperity and Strategic Initiatives (see above)

¨  Timeliness of the topic

¨  Diversity and balance of topics

¨  Facilitator skill set and commitment to generating an interactive learning experience
