Temporary Road closures onSunday 10th June2018 due to the Chew Valley 10k and 1k, starting at 09:30 from Bishop Sutton Football Club in Bishop Sutton, details as follows:

  1. A368 Wick Road from the junction with Hillside Gardens to the Nine Elms junction at North Widcombe (just after New Manor Farm Shop) for one hour from 09:00 – 10:00.
  2. Sutton Hill Road from the top at the crossroad with Stowey Road to the junction with Church Lane from 09:45 – 11:15.
  3. Church Lane from the junction with Sutton Hill Road to the junction with High Mead Gardens from 09:45 – 11:15.
  4. High Mead Gardens from the junction with Church Lane to the junction and cul-de-sac before Number 10 High Mead Gardens from 09:45 – 11:15.
  5. High Mead Gardens from Number 10 and Number 3 opposite to the junction with Parkfield Gardens from 08:00 – 11:15.
  6. Parkfield Gardens from the junction with High Mead Gardens to include only house numbers 9,8,7 and 6 from 08:00 – 11:15.

Our not-for-profit event continues to be a major fundraising event and this year, any proceeds will be divided between Bishop Sutton Primary School Society, Chew Valley School Society, Chew Valley-based charity, Bloodbikes Neo-natal Intensive Care Support ( supporting premature babies and their families and St Peter’s Hospice SW.

This year will include a 1km ‘Football FunRun’ at Bishop Sutton Football Club for younger participants at 11.45, with children encouraged to run as their favourite footballer to tie in with the World Cup, which starts the following week. There will also be refreshments, provided by Bishop Sutton Pre-School, football activities provided by Somerset F.A. and Chew Magna Football Club, live music and entertainment throughout the morning. The central point of the event will be the Bishop Sutton Football Club site and setting up will commence from 07:00 on the morning of Sunday 10th June. The Chew Valley 10k circular route will start on Wick Road, just down from the Football Club, then head West through Widcombe and Coley Hill to Hinton Blewett, past the Ring o’ Bells pub, before dropping back down to Bishop Sutton to the finish line.
