Stable under normal conditions of use, storage and transport. Comments: Metal fumes and certain noxious

gasses such as carbon monoxide may be produced during welding or flame cutting steel.

HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Primary Route(s) of Entry: Inhalation and prolonged skin contact.

Effects of Exposure: No toxic effect would be expected from exposure in its inert solid form. Prolonged, repeated exposure

to fumes of dust generated by grinding, welding, flame cutting and or brazing may cause the following adverse health effects.

INHALATION

Iron (Fe) Siderosis or Fibrosis

Manganese(Mn) Pneumonitis, central nervous system involvement resulting irritability, difficulty in

Walking, speech disorders, compulsive behavior, mask like face and Parkinson like syndromes.

Zinc (Zn) Inhalation of zinc dust or zinc oxide fumes can cause flu like illness called metallic fever.

Soluble oil Inhalation of smoke resulting from heating may result in pulmonary irritation.

Borax Ingestion may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and exythanetous flush.

Lime May cause irritation.

Skin Contact Prolonged exposure may cause irritation. Soluble oil may cause dermatitis.

Eye Contact May cause irritation.

Ingestion May cause irritation to mouth and throat.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES

INHALATION

Remove from excessive exposure levels unless proper respiratory protection is worn.

SKIN CONTACTS

If irritation develops, remove contaminated clothing, wash areas of contamination with soap and water or a mild detergent for five minutes. Consult physician if necessary.

EYE CONTACT

Immediately wash eyes with large amounts of water for five minutes occasionally lifting upper and lower eye lids. Consult physician if necessary.

INGESTION

May cause irritation of the mouth and throat. Consult physician

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE

STEP TO BE TAKEN IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED OR SPILLED: Sweep up.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: Any excess product can be recycled for future use. Disposed in a permitted Hazardous waster landfill or disposed by other methods which are in accordance with local, state and federal regulations

VENTILATION

Provide adequate ventilation as described in the industrial ventilation manual produced by the American Conference of industrial hygienist in those areas or applications of product use that result in exposure limits greater than permissible.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

When performing metal working operations that may produce dust smoke and or fume, a properly fitted NIOSH approved, dust and fume respirator should work.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

The use of appropriate protective clothing such as welder’s aprons and gloves for burning cutting operations is recommended.

EYE PROTECTION

Use protective goggles, face shields and or hoods when performing hot working operation such as grinding, welding, brazing or cutting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Federal OSHA, NTP or IARC, do not identify this material as carcinogen. Detectable amount of chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer birth defects, or other reproductive harm are found in this product. (California Health and Safety Code 25249.6)
