**This is a wonderful lesson that lends itself well to an entire ‘Gingerbread Day’. I usually do this on a day during the week before Christmas holidays. Centers can be filled with a huge number of gingerbread ideas. Math: cookie sheets with magnetic backed gingerbread men cut outs and/or directions to create a gingerbread glyph. Spelling: Create gingerbread men ornaments from construction paper, write spelling words on them, decorate with glitter, etc. then display them on the class tree. Language Arts: Activities are endless, write your own version, put on a play, draw pictures to show what happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story.
