Team Plan-Room 115

Classroom Rules

1.  Be ready to learn!

Have all class materials including books, writing utensils, and assignments ready to use when the bell rings.

You will make every effort to be as organized as possible. (Use a binder, notebook, ect…) Be alert and ready to participate. You can not learn with your head down, eyes closed, or spacing out. Listen to instructions the first time they are given.

2. Respect people’s belongings and space.

Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

Ask to borrow pens, pencils, ect…BEFORE taking them.

3.  Homework will be turned in each day for each subject by each student without exceptions.

In life we have deadlines, due dates, and the pressure of being on time. Being a student is your job. Just as in life you will be expected to pay your bills and come to work on time, in school you are expected to be in class and turn in assignments on time.

4.  Respect people’s opinions and feelings.

In the workforce you will be expected to work as a team. We are also a team; all team members should feel included and valued. Team members include, but are not limited to: teachers, students, class assistants, social workers, secretarial staff, bus drivers, administration, and the discipline team.

5.  Be professional.

You are all professional students. In order to succeed in life you must possess professional qualities. These include: giving a person eye contact, speaking in a calm manner, refraining from the use of vulgar and offensive language to team members, and making every effort to enhance rather than disrupt team learning. In order to practice professionalism upon entering the classroom/workplace each person must properly greet their teacher/boss by making eye contact, offering a considerate verbal greeting, and a handshake. You will then proceed to sign in.

6.  Be responsible.

Accept that you are going to make mistakes. Learn from them and move on. No matter what the circumstance always be honest. Even if you have done something wrong it is best to admit it to the appropriate team members. Honesty will always gain respect. It is your responsibility to keep team members’ trust. For example; when issued a pass to a specific area, you as a team member will report directly to that area.

7.  Follow all school handbook rules and procedures.

As a professional team member you must present yourself in such a way. Therefore, inappropriate dress is strictly prohibited.

Other important rules to consider are:

Act in a safe manner while on school property. Cell phones and electronic devices are not to be seen. No illegal substances are permitted in school or at the bus stop. You are not to come to school under the influence of any illegal substance.

8. Deer and Bats are strictly prohibited around your teachers.

This includes but is not limited to: Photographs, conversations, stuffed animals, key chains, clothing, lunches, and any other paraphernalia.

9.  You will conduct yourself as a professional team member in all areas of the school.

This rule includes participation in all regular education classes. If a negative report is voiced from other school personnel you will lose up to 10 points.

10. Be the best person you can possibly be!

Throughout life, you are going to have your heart broken, be lonely at times, and you are going to feel as if something is missing from your life. No life is lived without some amount of pain and heartache. No matter how bad things get, however, make sure you are always developing into the kind of person you want to be and the kind of person others will want to be around.

If You Choose to Break a Rule…
