Job Title: Area Manager Accommodation Support Services

(Central/South and North Lancashire)

Reports To: Head of SafeNet Services

Hours: 37 hoursper week (Mon - Fri), flexi to needs of the service

Job Purpose:

To co-ordinate and oversee the delivery ofsafe refuge accommodation services for both adults and children, support the Team Leaders to lead the support, housing management and housekeeping teams and implement a range of practical housing management and support strategies to deliver excellent refuge services. To ensure all SafeNet services/sites are compliant with all relevant legislation and standards including Health & Safety & Fire Regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1To take a lead role,alongside the Head of Services, for the smooth and consistent operation of accommodation & support services in Central/South and North Lancashire.

2To embed SafeNets culture and approaches ensuringsafe, high quality services are delivered to all residents/clients and stakeholder agencies.

2To keep the Head of Services fully informed of all service developments, issues, problems and achievements via written and verbal reports.

3To co-ordinate staff management processes alongside Team Leaders including recruitment and selection, induction, work-shadowing and on-going training and development.

4To support Team leaders who are directly line-managing all accommodation & support service staffto ensure appropriate support, supervision and personal development systems are in place.

5Provide support and guidance to the Team Leaders through any HR processes such as grievance and disciplinary matters.

6To review and co-ordinate staff induction processes, including contributing to the design and delivery of Induction and Modular training programmes for all SafeNet staff.

9To develop the teams across SafeNet, utilising excellent communication skills both in terms of work based communications and team member inter-action and work relationships.

10To help establish, apply, operate and consistently review appropriate work systems, processes and procedures, based on existing SafeNet systems and updated where needed to meet the specific needs of each Service.

11Oversee the effective implementation of Safeguarding Policies & Procedures for adults and children across all refuges. Regularly review Safeguarding alerts to ensure the Support and Children’s Teams are competent to apply safeguarding measures through regular training and ensurelearning informs future practice.

12To undertake fundraising activities for SafeNet, including application to relevant grant giving bodies; donations of goods in kind and resources to support services and also to directly benefit residents who need financial assistance setting up their new homes and for associated costs.

10To oversee compliance of housing management procedures, including financial procedures, handling cash, security of resources, keeping clear and accurate records and monitoring all relevant information. This involves working closely with Finance and Administration staff and the Head of Services to ensure proper financial procedures are followed.

11To produceregular internal service reports including clear and accurate performance management information and contribute to a range of SafeNet reports and communications to various audiences, for internal purposes and also for external bodies ie statutory agencies and funders when required

12To support Team Leaders to ensure regular ‘Health and Safety’ and Risk Assessment Procedures are carried out and to oversee the implementation of Health and Safety procedures across sites, including all regular security procedures and that this is consistently applied by the team.

1Build positive relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies, in particular building good working relationships with referral agencies, commissioners/funders ensuring SafeNet continue to work in partnership to deliver key local strategies and initiatives.

2Contribute to continuous improvement of services and improve competitiveness in tender processes.

3Maintain sound working knowledge and understanding of local and national priorities in relation to domestic abuse and be able to share this knowledge as appropriate within the organisation.

4Establish, apply, operate and consistently review work systems, processes and procedures, based on existing SafeNet systems, update where needed to meet the needs of the project.

Performance and Quality

7Ensure compliance across contracts the requirements of regulatory and statutory bodies, best practice and relevant legislation.

8Keep up to date with the external operating environment by utilising best practice and benchmarking to improve the service.

Risk Management

9Responsible for identifying risks within the service area and for the design and implementation control systems to enable risks to be managed effectively.

Corporate Management

10As a member of the Leadership Team take responsibility and contribute actively to corporate decision making, policy formulation, business development and the achievement of strategic aims and objectives.

11Develop services in accordance with Calico’s Corporate Plan & SafeNet’s Service Plans

12Actively display and promote behaviours which are congruent with the Calico Groups values.

13To work closely with colleagues across the Calico Group and other agencies and assist with establishing joint working initiatives and protocols which support refuge residents.
