Introduction

We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to develop and deliver the Prince’s Trust 12 weeks ‘Team’ programme at the Technical Skills Academy (TSA) at Barking and Dagenham College.

Previous experience of delivering the Prince’s Trust Team Programme is essential and you should have completed the Prince’s Team Leader Training programme. A sense of humour, patience and an understanding of the barriers to young people achieving are a must.

You will also have excellent planning and organisational skills. You will have good communication skills, both written and oral, with colleagues, participants and external agencies.

You will be a good leader able to enthuse and inspire those with whom you work.

Team Leader Prince’s Trust Programme

1.  Lead the development and delivery of the required number of Prince’s Trust Team Programmes, ensuring delivery complies with the structured 12 week stages and processes outlined in the Team Toolkit, the Team programme minimum standards, all assessment criteria and any other contractual obligations.

2.  Recruit young people to the programmes across the appropriate age ranges to achieve an appropriate team mix that also meets College funding targets.

3.  Plan and deliver effective learning experiences that meet individual learning needs and meet College retention, achievement and success targets.

4.  Provide leadership, advice and support to assist participants to achieve all elements of the Team programme including the work experience and community projects elements.

5.  Manage finances, budgets and targets effectively in adherence with College policies and provide reports as needed.

6.  Write End of Team Reports after each programme and ensure actions to improve the quality of the programme are implemented according to plan.

7.  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, paper and electronic, as required by The Trust and the College to meet data protection policy and EFA & SFA funding guidance and audit requirements.

8.  Implement policies including risk assessment, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, PREVENT etc. in line with expectations of the Trust and the College.

9.  Ensure awarding body registration and quality guidance is adhered to and met.

10.  Develop and implement action plans to address issues identified in the Programme and other reviews.

11.  Participate in IV standardisation meetings and address any required actions

12.  Attend all necessary internal/external training courses and management/steering group meetings as required including Prince’s Trust initial Team Leader Training course, Risk Management and, if not already held, Food Hygiene and First Aid at Work.

13.  Carry out other Team-related duties as may reasonably be required by the College or The Trust including deputising as appropriate on activities relevant to area of responsibility.

15.  Understand and comply with Safeguarding legislation, including PREVENT, and ensure that best practice is embedded in all working practices as required.

16.  Be aware of, and comply with, legislations/competence standards relevant to the work of the Directorate.

17.  Assist as required during examination and enrolment periods.

18.  Participate in the Staff Learning and Development, Review and Appraisal Scheme.

19.  Undertake such duties and/or hours of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade and general level of responsibility, at your main place of work or at any other establishment for which the College provides services.
