TEAM BUILDING GUIDELINES

Once someone has joined here is step by step:

The recruiter should tell them IMMEDIATELY of the next New Consultant orientation (always Monday 6pm at Martinos in Pink place plaza) and it is crucial for them to attend. The company has always recommended you escort your new team member to orientation if at all possible. Their commitment to attend needs to be communicated to ME ASAP.

Between this time and Monday Night orientation your recruit should write a contact list. In addition her first class/debut or debut at studio should be set up-and it should occur within first 15 days max- 10 is best timeframe at most. If you have a new consultant welcome packet and CD please give to them and make sure they listen before Monday Night.

The recruiter should tell the new business associate IMMEDIATELY of thenext success meeting and the dress code expected in Mary Kay. Suggested: Ask them who is going to come and see them get their pin. Also mention the Thursday night skin care class- if they can’t attend the success event that week they should focus on this training opportunity with a face.

In addition- especially if they have not done their own color- encourage muffins attendance.

Once their agreement is in they will receive a welcome email from me.

Misc

I provide the new consultant pin for your FIRST team member only. You should be purchasing their new consultant pins from Section 2 and presenting them at the meeting. We have paper roses at the studio that I will provide. Order what you expect to be recruiting! Do not be Scarce!

Communication

Let me know after the above steps and upon execution of the agreement.

Please keep an eye on the shipping of their starter kit- You should be in touch with your new team member CONSTANTLY.

The recruiter should be in communication with their new team member MINIMULLY every 48 hours- using the checklist to assist them in setting up (this means TALKING for 15-20 mins max not just random texting-it is your responsibility to develop the relationship!)

Outside Events; Please communicate to your team members the VALUE of attending outside events, how they work, how they sign up etc..

Other Suggestions:

You will be given a checklist from me and this should enable you to be talking to your team members daily or every 48 hours! It is CRUCIAL that you learn how to develop relationships with them.

1) Never sit on an agreement once funds are given to you. EXECUTE it immediately!!

2) If for ANY reason you have shipped the starter kit to you because of their apartment etc.. Get it delivered to them IMMEDIATELY.

3) Your team will do what you do!! That is reality they will FOLLOW THE LEADER. If they see you as a woman of integrity they will step up and do the same. If they see you holding classes, they will hold classes, if they see you attending meetings they will attend meetings. The reality is.. this is ALWAYS the case. It is what is CAUGHT not TAUGHT that occurs..

4) NEVER tell your people what to do.. Make sure you are constantly communicating that they own their own business and THEY have choices. Share your OWN experience with things and have them always call me if they are confused or stuck.

5) NEVER EVER pressure or push a team member. this BREEDS bad attitude and causes people not only to leave mary kay but it hurts the entire company reputation and the Brand Image. Remember my job and yours as a recruiter is to SERVE our team--our team does NOT serve us. It is NOT your team’s job to bring in volume. Remember there are NO quotas in Mary Kay EVER!

6) Also, remember when we interview we say "mary kay is not for everyone" If you truly believe that and someone desires to step away or stop working LET THEM GO. It Might not be for them!! Keep always open and mature relationships with your team!!

7) Although new business associates should be initiating questions and contact with their director and recruiter at least 4x a week... we all know how scary it is to do this.. I strongly suggest in addition to contact at the weekly meeting the recruiter also checks in with them at least 1-2 other times during the week.

I am hoping this helps everyone to be even stronger leaders than you already are. I can't say enough about the quality of women and potential you all have in this unit!! It is astounding!
