Teaching Assistant Grade 3, Scale Point 14-17 (pro rata)
27.5 hours per week, term time only
We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant from September to work initially in our Reception/Year 1 class.

We are looking for a flexible team player who is prepared to support the class teacher, other colleagues and children. You will need to be well motivated, tenacious and be confident enough to use your own initiative when the need arises. In addition, you must have a firm but fair manner and a genuine desire to support the individual development of the children with whom you work. You will be expected to uphold all the school’s policies and procedures, paying particular attention to the positive behaviour and reward strategies.
A genuine desire to work with children in the early years, including those with special educational needs, and a good working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum are key to this role.
Applicants must have:
Relevant experience working with children in the Early Years and, preferably, children of school age
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
The ability to use basic technology to support teaching & learning
A minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
A positive attitude and a desire to work as a member of a team
Hoyland Springwood Primary School is part of the Every Child Matters Academy Trust and continues to work in partnership with Wombwell Park Street Primary School, High View Primary Learning Centre, Kexborough Primary School and Wellgate Primary School.
