Job Description–Before School Club Co-ordinator:

  • To co-ordinate the out of hours care,including suitable staff cover, in Dining room during the designated hours and outdoors when the weather is suitable
  • To promote a happy, safe and secure environment whilst carrying out the role
  • To prepare the breakfast club area in advance of the girls arriving and work with the team to tidy away afterwards
  • To register the girls as they arrive to Breakfast Club
  • To keep record of girls departing for clubs and other lessons
  • To provide on-the-job training/guidance for new staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish effective, professional working relationships with colleagues
  • To prepare and update register according to bookings. Ensure booking slips and parents booking forms are available each day
  • Accurate record keeping is vital as is, liaising with the Bursars Office regarding parental invoicing
  • To be aware of the girls’ medical needs and of any medication that they might need; including the location of Epi pens, inhalers, first aid box etc.
  • Awareness of individual dietary requirements and food allergies
  • Assist the girls to choose both a healthy and substantial breakfast

Job Description – Teaching Assistant:

  • Under the direction of the Headmistress the main responsibilities (depending on actual post) of the assistant may include:

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise school work, listening to readers, playing with the girls.
  • Assist with organisation and smooth running of the dining room, e.g. queue management and clearing away.
  • Promote table manners
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and safety on outdoor equipment and in classroom
  • Encourage and initiate play activities
  • Assist with organisation of sessions and maintain order, eg lining up
  • Assist teachers in the classroom during lessons
  • Assist in setting up and preparing activities
  • Support individual pupils with specific learning difficulties
  • Support groups of children with specific learning needs
  • Cover classes using work planned by teachers
  • Assist with ICT in the classroom
  • Assist with display work
  • Assist on educational visits
  • Break-time supervision as requested
  • Lunchtime supervision in the dining room and during playtime
  • Attend planning and staff meetings when necessary

General to both roles:

  • Attend all In-School training sessions as requested by the Headmistress or her Deputy
  • Comply with the information and guidance in the Staff Handbook and all other School Policies
  • Establish effective, professional working relationships with colleagues
  • Set a good example to the girls through presentation, personal appearance and general conduct
  • Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour in the girls
