Grade Level Meeting February 24, 2014

Teachers present: Ann Seibert, Brenda Dexter, Anita Lovell, Angie Stockman

Recess, zoom, and specials times will change for ISAT week – March 3-6th. Friday, the 7th, is a make-up day. Do not take kindergarten out to go to the bathroom before 10:30 for Mrs. Robinson will have students in her room testing. Also we do not go to bathroom as a whole between 1-2pm.

Electronic Data Wall-We learned how to filter out our classes to check on specific columns for AIMS web scores.

Tutoring.-We will have tutoring through ISAT week and the last March 14th.

Full time summer school will be at Steele school. If we have retentions, they will not go to summer school.

Conferences are March 18th-20th. These conferences are for those that we may have concerns about.;

1st Grade

ISAT Testing Schedule:

·  9:30-10:30 and 1:00-2:00Building quiet due to testing

·  1st grade recess in afternoon at 2:20-2:35

PARCC Assessment:

·  2 Third grade classes will be taking the pilot test

Summer school anticipation at Steele:

Grade Level Meeting Notes: Third Grade

· Discussed ISAT testing schedule

· Checked over new electronic data wall information

· Created the summer school list

4th Grade

Attendance: Ankeney, Jennings, Hua and Stockman

We discussed some activities for the students after PM testing: Scrabble, Chess, Origami, or quiet games.

We went over ISAT Testing schedule and procedure.

Discussed write-ups for noncompliance with homework. Is there a set number, monthly issues, contacting parents. How do we motivate these kids?

Cindy shared Career Exploration Fair with the group.We will beinviting parents/community members to volunteer their time to talk to students about career options. The fair will be April 25 at the former Giant building.

Mrs. Stockman shared data wall for our 4th grade team. We also talked about summer school. The focus is on Language Arts: Justin Woods, Italia Ramirez, Trayvontae Nicholson, Joel Bizau, Noah Bowen. Jason Brown, Maria Hull, Tim Sutton, Izzie Kersh, Colten Myers, Nolan Bronugh, Trustin Hardges

5th Grade Grade Level Meeting

ISATs

·  Went over schedule for the week of ISATs.

·  Pick up and drop off of testing materials.

·  Specials schedule changes

·  Procedures before the test (bathroom, drink, etc.)

·  Sped students will be picked up from the classroom by their proxies.

·  We need to discuss a plan for afternoon recess the week of the ISATs.
