Guided Practice
Explore / What do you think “verde” means?? Give clues: verde is the color of grass.
What do you think “amarillo” means?? Give clues: amarillo is the color of the sun, egg yolks, Jamieen’s shirt, etc.
Have students write the word “amarillo”: spell the word out loud. Have the entire class repeat each letter as you write it on the board.
Repeat for each color.

Practice
Elaborate / I Spy: (With each color)I spy with my little eye, something that is rojo. Have individual students guess what you are thinking of.
Assessment
Evaluate / V= student guesses objects that are the correct color without prompting
M= student needs one prompt to guess object of correct color
A= student needs two prompts to guess an object of the correct color
N= student refuses to guess or cannot guess even with multiple prompts
