TEACHER APPLICATION INFORMATION
- Teachers who have been directly involved in student entries in their school for the 2017 Premier’s ANZAC Spirit School Prize are invited to apply for selection by the 2017 Premier’s ANZAC Spirit School Prize Committee to accompany theANZAC prize student recipients on the study tour to Vietnam in 2017.
- Teacher applicationsusing the attachedTeacher Application form must be submitted with the student entries.
- The tour will be led by a representative of the Department for Education and Child Development and a teacher chaperone. They will be accompanied by a representative of the SA Branch of the Returned & Services League (RSL-SA).
- The role of the accompanying teachers is to implement the duty of care requirements of the three participating sectors in respect of the students selected.
- Three copies of the Teacher Applicationform areto be forwarded to reach 31 Flinders St, Adelaide by close of business on Friday, 19 May 2017.
- This is NOT a DECD Merit Selection Process. Those nominated are to be selected on the basis of:
- Teaching in a school with a student or studentsparticipating in the 2017 Premier’s ANZAC Spirit School Prize
- The support of the teacher’s Principal
- A referee statement which comments on the applicant’s suitability for a supervision and supportrole in the context of the trip
- Astatement of no more than 1000 words explaining their reasons for wanting to accompany the students on the Premier’s ANZAC Spirit School PrizeStudy Tour in 2017.
This statement should include:
- Information on teaching experience
- Evidence of expertise in extended excursion management and responsibility
- Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills with students
- Evidence of demonstratedexpertise in historical enquiry
- Ideas on how the experience of participating in the tour would benefit teaching related to the ANZAC Spirit.
An interview will be part of the process to determine the teachers to participate in the 2017Premier’s ANZAC Spirit School Prize Study Tour.
