TCS Cooling Pre-Installation Meeting Agenda

RMG Highly recommends a 1-hour meeting with the entire Team, including hands-on personnel and Electricians, 2-3 weeks Prior to Installation.

·  Complete the TCS Pre-Installation Meeting

·  If not yet completed, View Design / Implementation Process Video (13 minutes):

o  http://www.tcs-saves-energy.com/project-execution

·  View Cooling Options Video (7 minutes) - http://www.tcs-saves-energy.com/cooling-1

·  Review Cooling Systems Installation Instructions, which are on the last page of the System Installation Instructions, reading through each step. Instructions can be found on the Forms and Resource page of the Website:

o  http://www.tcs-saves-energy.com/resources

·  Review System Assembly Drawing showing the Bill of Material, system lay-out and the specifications of each TCS Section (voltage, power, etc.) in the Kit, paying special attention to the sizes, locations, and requisite access associated with the Cooling Rings

o  Verify Physical Fit of the system on the Machine, including Sections Lengths and Clearance

·  Discuss:

o  Blowers

§  Blower Technical Information, including Power and Wiring Requirements, and Physical Dimensions can be found on the Forms and Resources page of the Website

§  The Blowers provided with TCS can activated manually or automatically (by Machine Control System), and as such electrical switches are NOT provided with the Kit

§  If manually activated, electrical switches must be sourced prior to installation

§  It is highly recommended to run fused power supply for the blowers, prior to TCS installation

§  Blower Operating voltage is 208V-230V, and draws 7.5 amps

§  Suggested Hardware includes:

·  2- Pole Switch, rated for the appropriate voltage and >15 amps (if manually activated)

·  Versa-Mount UL Class Fuse Block, Class J 600 VAC/VDC, 1-30 Amp, 1 Pole

·  UL Class J Time-Delay Fuse, 600 VAC, 10 Amps

·  NOTE: Each TCS Blower requires a constant 230 v (208v to 265v) single phase, 10 amp circuit and must be “always on” when the machine is turned on

·  When the blower is controlled by the Machine, a separate control circuit must be connected to each cooling unit to turn the cooling unit on and off.

o  The existing control circuit most likely can be used to provide the separate on/off signal

§  Blowers need to be mounted in close proximity to the barrel and the Structures must be fabricated prior to TCS Installation

·  Many customers fabricate structures, 18-24” above the machine, to hold the blowers

·  Please see the example shown near the end of the TCS Cooling video

·  Mounting racks are typically made from 2" x 2" angle iron frame with the inside dimension between the angle iron uprights to be 0.25" wider than the cooling unit dimension

·  The angle iron legs point up and keep the cooling unit from shifting
