Status of Quorum(at least 60%) – Quorum reached

  • Approval of February minutes – Minutes approved on motion by Kristen, second from Suzanne. Justina will post minutes on the Wiki page.

I.New Business:

  • Update to TB PEN Open Forum presentation schedule
  • April 5
  • A Novel Assessment of Patients’ Knowledge and Priorities Regarding LTBI Treatment Initiation and Completion – Latrice Holt

Latrice will have a co-presenter; they will each do half of the presentation. This is a more in-depth presentation from a poster at the 2016 TB PEN/ETN conference.

  • June 7
  • NTIP linelist demonstration: CDC tutorial and TB program experience/example – Bob Pratt, Kai Young, Kin Lam

Suggestion from last meeting to have NTIP presentation in April will not work out. Moving NTIP presentation to June. Subsequent discussion and decision made: in order to have all planned presenters available, this call will be moved to June 14th. Rachel will send out a “save the date.”

  • Suggestions for August 2 TB PEN Open Forum call

Awal will send 2 recent journal articles from IJTLD to consider contacting the authors for a potential presentation. Both involve looking at LTBI: one from Philadelphia in refugees, and one from San Diego in people who use injection drugs. Please review for interest – we will discuss again on April’s call.

  • Updates from NTIP Coordinating Committee

No updates. The NTIP RVCT Revision Workgroup is currently meeting to discuss impact of proposed RVCT revisions on NTIP objectives; their feedback is due in April.

  • Begin review of TB PEN bylaws
  • TB PEN member roles

Currently, Rachel has a distribution list with no distinction between membership types. Previously there was a membership form, but it is not currently used.

Unanimous voice vote to drop category E of membership (Information only membership). This will be discussed and brought forward for vote by the Voting Membership at the next Focal Point Open Forum call. Once approved, new version of the bylaws will be posted on the Wiki.

II. Old Business:

  • Appointment of Steering Committee representatives from RTMCC, TBETN, TBTC, CDC – Peri okay to stay on for TB ETN. Rachel is still reaching out to other groups on whether they want to appoint a new member or keep the same one. Curry Center was under the impression that they had someone assigned with the expectation to be active.

III. Updates

TB PEN Wiki site

All Steering Committee members should have been added by Rachel with full functionality/editing privileges. Please explore the site and brainstorms ways to use it/make it work better.
