  1. CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER
  2. The Student Senate of Tarleton State University Student Government Association was called to order by the Speaker of the Senate, Danel Smith at 5:15 p.m. in room 219 of the Thompson Student Center.
  1. ROLL CALL
  2. The Following Class Senators Were Present: Sophomore Senator Shaun Rowan, Senior Senator Paul Caldwell, Graduate Senator Keith Price, Sophomore Senator Melissa McDonald, Junior Senator Danel Smith, Graduate Senator Kerry Schindler, Sophomore Senator Courtney Lamkin, Junior Senator Blake West, Graduate Senator Gayle Scott, Senior Senator Allissa Russell .
  3. The Following College Senators Were Present: COLFA Senator Kaylie Carrico, COLFA Senator Alle Bird, COST Senator Sally Spann, COST Senator Ashley Wallace, COBA Christina Reno, COAHS Senator Jeralyn Stephens, COE Senator Tamara Carpenter
  4. The Following Senators Were Absent: COAHS Senator Jessica Jenschke, COBA Senator Elliot Garner, COE Senator Sarah Heine, Junior Senator Alycia Pruitt, Senior Senator Megan Galloway.
  5. MINUTES
  6. Senator Blake West motioned to approve the minutes and Senator Shaun Rowan seconded the motion. Motion passed.
  1. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORTS
  2. President:
  3. President Maggie Moore discussed how last week’s voting went.
  4. SGA office will be moving this week to the new office downstairs.
  5. Vice President:
  1. Vice President Ely Borrero discussed who will be going to COSGA-4 delegates
  2. Student concern survey will be up next week
  3. Police Chief will come to next week’s senate meeting for questions
  4. Administrative Assistant:
  5. Email was sent out about information concerning affiliate program
  6. Academic Affairs:
  7. James Reed discussed the by-laws
  8. Voting went well-constitution amendments passed
  9. Community and Public Relations:
  10. none.
  11. Activities, Spirit and Traditions:
  12. Monica de Los Santos and Drew Eubank should have some answers and ideas about Founder’s week.
  13. Mat resolution passed in both house and senate
  14. Missing items from student center (historical TSU stuff)-going to find out where it all went and how to get it back-if at all possible.
  15. University Operations:
  16. Sy Broumley discussed the 1st brick committee meeting is Tuesday at 5:15 in rm 215 in library.
  17. Smoke free survey next week
  18. Questions about control center and emergency numbers to be put on the back of Texan card.
  19. Questions and concerns about pot holes and pavement around campus.
  20. Unity:
  21. No report.
  22. FRC:
  23. 6th grade day away set for March 26th.

  4. Texas Academy research symposium set for March 4-6th
  5. Trying to sell science and tech t-shirts in the on-campus bookstore
  6. Bake sale and senator event in science building this week

  8. Met with career services-generated a ‘senior’ to-do list with dates and times for each specific event.
  9. Plan to hold a booth/comment box at the summer job fair in two weeks

a.  The Student Senate of Tarleton State University was adjourned at 5:42 p.m. by the Speaker of the Senate, Danel Smith, following a motion made by Senator Shaun Rowan and seconded by Senator Keith Price.
