Targeted Funding Program 2017
Support for integration, workplace learning, community based learning and school delivered VET for students with a disability
Schools with students with disabilities may be eligible to apply for additional support for the above programs.
The Targeted Funding Program replaces programs previously called Commonwealth Strategic Assistance Program (SAP), Link Support and HSC School VET.
· Schools for Specific Purposes and schools with support classes are eligible for funds to support the integration of students with a disability into regular educational settings and transitioning to a new setting. This was previously called Strategic Assistance Program (SAP). No application required.
· Schools with secondary aged students with disabilities in Years 9-12 are eligible to apply for additional funds to support workplace learning, community based learning. This was previously called LINK Support Schools with secondary aged students with a disability enrolled in a school delivered HSC VET course, and includes mandatory work placement This was previously called HSC VET.

TARGET GROUP / DESCRIPTION / ACTION
Students with a disability
K-12, enrolled in special schools or support classes
(formerly known as SAP) / This funding supports the integration of students in special schools and support classes into regular classes and transitioning into a new setting / No application required
Payments will be made directly to all special schools and schools with support classes
Students with a disability in Years 9-12
(formerly known as Link Support) / This funding supports students with a disability in Years 9-12 involved in a range of workplace learning and community based learning activities
The 2005 Workplace Learning Policy for Secondary Students in Government Schools and TAFE NSW Institutes provides the context for a range of activities for all students to contextualise their learning and…to achieve curriculum outcomes and enhance the vocational, educational and social development of students enrolled in regular classes, special classes and special school
This funding is for students who require additional support to achieve outcomes that are unable to be delivered in the classroom setting
For example:
· to achieve (some) Life Skills outcomes
· workplace learning activities such as in-school or out of school work experience
· job sampling
· excursions into the community
· preparation for post school options including service visits / Complete Form A (attached)
Students with a disability in a school delivered HSC VET course
(formerly known as HSC VET) / This funding is for students with a disability enrolled in a school delivered HSC VET course, and includes mandatory work placement / Complete Form B
