Taqiyyah

Taqiyyah is the permission of hiding one’s true faith, not for the sake of expediency {personal advantage} but when there is danger to one’s {or another believer’s} life, property , honour. {jaan maal izzat}

Not only is it allowed on religious grounds but even intelligence and wisdom will say that it should be allowed.

“Whosoever disbelieves in God after –except him who is forced to pretend to disbelieve and whose heart is secure in faith” Surah Nahl 106.

Above was revealed when Ammar e Yassir was forced to express disbelief, despite a heart overflowing with faith

History is full of tyranny and oppression of not only the Umayyad {Hajjaj wanting to see one head with flowing blood of shia before he could eat anything} and Abbasid caliphs {eg Mutawakkil killed all those who had names Ali, Hassan….. } but even during the Ottoman’s rule in Turkey and Syria. The shias have paid an extremely high price for upholding and following their beliefs. The Shias underwent such a fate despite having recourse to taqiyya. If the shias could not have practiced Taqiyya, would there be anything left of Shiism today?

There is a difference between taqiyya and hypocrisy.

In hypocrisy the heart is devoid of faith, while outwardly professing faith. In taqiyyah the heart is full of faith, but the tongue expresses disbelief only out of fear for the harm by the oppressor.

Taqiyyah is allowed only under certain conditions and not allowed under certain conditions.

Ghuluw

Ghuluw in Arabic language means to go beyond the limit.

In the Quran the Ahle Kitab are told, “Oh People of the Book, do not exaggerate in your religion, nor utter anything concerning A… save the truth. {4:171}

The Ahle Kitaab made the rights of Jesus to exceed beyond the truth, by referring to him as God or son of God. Similarly certain groups of muslims went beyond the bounds of truth with respect to the Prophet s.a.w.s. and his Ahlebait, ascribing to them the attributes that belong to Allah only. Thus they are called ghaali as they went beyond the limits of truth.

According to Allama Majlisi: Ghulu in regard to the Prophet s.a.w.s. and the Ahlebait applies if we name them God or that in our worship we see them as partners with God or that we see creation or our daily sustenance as being from them or if we believe that A… has incarnated HIMSELF in them or if we say that they know the secrets of the unseen without needing interpretation from A… or that we presume that because of believing in the imams we do not need to worship or discharge any religious responsibilities.

Imam Ali a.s. and the aimma a.s. have always distanced themselves from such claims and even cursed those who made such claims.

6th Imam a.s. : “Warn your youth about the exaggerators, lest they ruin their religious beliefs. Thay try to belittle the Majesty of A…. while claiming lordship for the slaves of A….”

Their outward profession of Islam is valueless and the religious authorities regard them as disbelievers.

Aitekaaf

Aitekaaf yaani qasde qurbat karte huay makhsoos masjido may kam say kam 3 din tak theherna.

Aitekaaf ehem tareen mustahab ibaadat hai dono mard aur aurato kay liye. Motabar hadeeth : Agar sahi tareeqe say koyi ek aitekaaf kar leta hai to usay 2 hajj aur 2 umro ka sawaab milta hai.

Riwayat e Rasul e Khuda s.a.w.s. hai kay, “Meri ummat kay liye A… nay rohbaaniyat ko nahi rakha hai, uskay badlay aitekaaf qaraar diya hai”

Ulama bataate hai kay jo faida isaayi ya yahudi ko 100/200/500 saal may milta tha jungle may jaakar baithnay say, who ummat e aakhri Rasul ko 3 din may milta hai aitekaaf karnay say.

Aitekaaf ka silsila Rasul e Khuda s.a.w.s. nay pehli baar Madina e Munawwara may shuru kiya aur apni wafaat tak koyi saal aisa na guzra jab saal may ek baar who bhi Mahe Ramadhan may aitekaaf na kartay ho. Sirf 2 A.H. may jang e Badr ki wajah say aitekaaf nahi kar paaye to 3 A.H. may 2 aitekaaf kiye, ek pichlay saal ki qaza ki aur ek 3 A.H. ka aitekaaf kiya.

Aitekaaf saal may kabhi bhi kiya jaa sakta hai siwaayi un taareeko may jab roza rakhna mamnoo hai. Ziyadaatar behtar Mahe Ramadhan may ho aur usnay ziyada behtar ke Mahe Ramadhan kay aakhri dus {10} dino may ho.

Kuch mujhtahid {eg Aga Khomeini}kehtay hai kay sirf 4 masjido may aitekaaf ho sakta hai, Masjidul Haraam, Masdiun Nabawi, Masjid e Kufa aur Masjid e Basra. Kuch {Eg Aga Khoei}kehtay hai kay in chaar kay alaawa Jame Masjid may bhi ho sakta hai, lekin ziyaada sawaab in chaar masjido ka hai.

Aitekaaf may insaan niyyat karay aitekaaf ki qurbatan ilallah

aur kum say kum 3 din tak masjid may rahay. Time shuru hoga Fajr ki namaz say to us say pehlay masjid may pahuch jaaye aur niyyat kar lay. 3rd day maghrib e sharayi kay waqt aitekaaf ka waqt khatam ho jaayega.

Aitekaaf kay waqt qatan baahar na niklay.

Aitekaaf may insaan apnay aap ko 5 cheezo say bachaaye.

  • Jinsi taalukaat
  • Istimna
  • Khushboo
  • Tijaarat eg khareed o farokht, musalehat, partnership ya muamlaat ki agreement karna chaahe zubaani hi sahi,
  • Apni badhaayi zaahir karna chaahe deeni/duniyaawi umoor may chaahe sachchi ho ya jhooti ho, jhagda karna

Aitekaaf may roza shart hai.Therefore do not do any mubtilaat e roza during aitekaaf warna aitekaaf toot jaayega. Nifaas wali aurat, haiza, musafir aitekaaf nahi kar saktay.

c.} Aitekaaf karnay waalay ko sharayi ijaazat ho chahe to pehlay lay lay eg kaneez/ ghulaam from master

Masjid: Masjid ka hall, masjid ki chhat, tehkhana for pesh imam are all masjid unless you learn that waskif nay niyyat karkay inhe masjid may include nahi kiya. Therefore in Aitekaaf do not go to adjoining imambaargaah/sehan of masjid unless you know that sehen is part of masjid.

Masjid may jo chaahe karay. So jaaye, ibaadat karay, baithay rahay. Its up to you.

Jaame masjid : Who badi masjid sheher ki jahaa mukhtlif ilaaqay kay log namaz kay liye aate ho. Yeh zaruri nahi kay jahaa namaz e juma hoti ho. Agar do masjid paas may hai aur dono jaame masjid hai , dono may aitekaaf ho sakta hai.

Musafir bhi aitekaaf kar sakta hai. {Otherwise we shall never be able to do aitekaaf in Masjid e Haraam or Masjid e Nabawi.} agar who apnay sheher may mannat maanay kay agar mai Madina pahuch gaya to mau 3 rozay rakhoonga. Then one can keep rozas in Madina and so can do aitekaaf there.
