Events are listed in the running order.

Event 1 and 2 Team pairs incident [Timed Event] [Unseen dry and wet Incidents]

Team demonstration in pairs of unseen incidents. The pair will deal with a dry incident, then with a wet. The incidents will involve demonstration of life support, basic first aid, rescuing a number of casualties from the water and providing appropriate aftercare. Specific aids will be available. Teams should demonstrate appropriate use of the EAM. 2 minute time limit.

Event 3Tow relay (2 x 25m) [Timed Event]

Both team members begin in the water, with one hand on the wall. The first member towing will begin by towing using an extended arm tow using either side stroke or lifesaving backstroke. When the other end of the pool (25m) is reached, both team members must touch the side, and the positions can be swapped, so that the casualty is now towing and the swimmer is being towed.

Note this must be a proper side stroke, strokes that look like that they are being swum on their front will be penalised. When being towed, the casualty should not kick or assist and must lie on their back.

Event 4 Rope Throw Relay [Timed Event]

The first team member stands on the pool-side holding the end of the rope, the remaining team members are in the pool 10m (8m for rookie age group) away (holding the lane line). The 2nd team member is in the water with one hand on the cross line and one hand on the throwing line which is extended across the pool. On the starting signal, (the casualty must release their grip on the throwing line), the first team member coils the rope and throws to the second team member who takes hold of the rope, only if it is within their lane, the casualty must remain in contact with the cross line until they have gripped the thrown line with both hands and is pulled through the water whilst keeping their head up above the water. On receiving the rope, competitors may kick their legs, must keep two hands on the rope, and must not climb the rope whilst being pulled in. On reaching the side, the second team member must climb out and re-coil the rope to throw, the competitor who has just thrown the rope may not pass the end of the rope to the next thrower, but can point to where the end is. The 1st thrower can walk or swim back to the line to be rescued. The event finishes when the 2nd casualty touches the end of the pool.

Casualties may assist by kicking their legs in this event but must maintain TWO hands on the rope at all times.

[The time will be from the starting signal until the 2ndcasualty touches the end of the pool. a maximum time of 2minuteswill be allowed for each team to complete the event]

Event 5 Body board relay [Timed event]

The first team member will be in the shallow end of the pool with one hand in contact with the pool edge and one hand in contact with the body board. On the starting signal, the first team member swims 25 metres (1 length) and must touch the end wall above the surface of the water with their hand. The second team member, who is at the deep end in the water may then take over the body board and swims 25 metres (1 length) and must touch the end wall above the surface of the water with their hand.

[The time will be from the starting signal until the 2ndteam member touches the shallow end wall at the end of the swim]
