Table S3. A concrete case of research synthesis: Reporting of location of the study area and sampling points. For our meta-analysis (Vetter et al 2013), we analyzed 20 articles testing for effects of tropical forest edges on bird nest predation risk. Since forest cover was not consistently reported in primary articles, we used the location of the study area and generated the desired data ourselves via satellite images and GIS software.
