Note: Some women were no longer volunteering at the time of the interview, they told us about their previous experiences with volunteering. In the Netherlands buddy projects are common, in these projects individuals are matched to other individuals that they help with certain tasks. Also, in the Netherlands children in primary school usually go home to have lunch. Some schools offer children to have lunch at school, supervised by volunteers. Many women volunteered in such positions.
