System joins CosmoBike Show as main sponsor of the Italian Green Road Award – dedicated to Italian bikeways

Work together to make Italy a bike friendly country: this is one of the objectives pursued by CosmoBike Show, the International Bicycle Show, scheduled from 16 to 19 September 2016 in the Verona Exhibition Centre. “Together with the cycle industry companies we are committed to spreading the idea that cycling should not be just a sport, but an everyday activity” - said Paolo Coin, Project Manager of the exhibition.

Today over 300 companies have already confirmed their participation: this is not just an international trade show attended by over 50 thousand visitors, but an entire project with a single mission: spreading the bike culture. Among the big names that stand out in this issue, we have Bosch eBike System, which will be present at CosmoBike Show to consolidate its leadership in the eBike innovation, a new cycling frontier, which predicts an enormous potential.

It is an important signal that an industry leader like Bosch has recently joined the Cycling Industry Club (CIC), which includes leading companies in the cycling sector and aims to promote cycling as a healthy and sustainable means of transportation. The Bosch commitment to the environment is in the mission of the German brand. "Protecting the environment and the natural resources - says Federica Cudini Bosch Marketing Manager Italy - together with promoting sustainable mobility, are central issues in the development of products and services in all business sectors. In 2013, Bosch spent 4.5 billion Euros in R & D, of which over 40% is earmarked for the development of "green" technologies and products more efficient and environmentally friendly".

The bicycle is the best way to explore nature and learn about places otherwise inaccessible in parks and nature sanctuaries of our country, thanks to its transportability and its low environmental impact.

Since its first edition CosmoBike Show established the Italian Green Road Award in partnership with Viagginbici.com, the Sustainable Tourism Magazine. The Award enhances all forms of sustainable tourism and Bosch eBike System will be the main sponsor of this second edition. The Italian Green Road Award wants to be a focus on the potential offered by the bike tourism, promoting the wonderful bike paths and dirt roads still little known in many Italian regions. This will be the way to make them known to the general public, as well as an opportunity to acknowledge the efforts of local authorities in the creation of new routes and the maintenance or restoration of the existing trails.

"The purpose of the Italian Green Road Award is to value the commitment of local authorities and their investments in green infrastructure. According to the World Health Organization - declares Ludovica Casellati - Viagginbici.com, director and creator of the award - 1 billion invested in the cycling mobility fosters the creation of about 22,000 jobs and improves the way of life and health of those who use it. The first edition of the Award has achieved an important goal: the Umbria Region, winner of the first prize, donated money for the completion of the Spoleto - Norcia, a cycle path made from an adapted old railway, proving that you can trigger a virtuous competition between administrations to promote sustainable tourism".
