Coach Harr

Dear Student,

Welcome to psychology! I am sure we have an exciting and stimulating semester ahead of us and I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you in the coming weeks. To assist in creating an effective learning environment, I must ask you to read and reflect on the following necessities. Thank you!

Supplies

Please provide the following supplies and bring them to class daily.

Ø  Folder to keep psychology notes and papers

Ø  Loose leaf paper

Ø  Pencil / Pen

Ø  Laptop

Tutorials

Tutorials are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:40-3:40. Students whose grades are low, or who need additional help are expected to attend. You will benefit from utilizing this time to your advantage. Please sign in when attending.

Make-up Work

When students are absent, they are responsible for picking up missed work before or after school the day they return. Make-up work is due at the beginning of class when that class next meets. Students who are absent more than one day are to conference privately with their teacher regarding due dates for missed work. You can get your make up work from Coach Harr.

Discipline

Students are expected to comply with all school rules as outlined in the student handbook. Appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken for violations.

Dress Code

Students are expected to comply with the school dress code. If a student comes to class out of dress code he/she will be sent to his/her assistant principal’s office.

School Work

Students who remain on task and work industriously should be able to complete most work for this class during class time. Occasionally homework will be assigned.

Grading rules

There will be three categories into which grades fall.

They are:

Daily Grade ------50%

Major Grades ------40%

Reading and Writing Grades ------10%

100%

Late Work Policy

All work is due the next class period unless otherwise specified. In the event that you must turn in late work, the following late work policy will be in effect:

1 Day late – 85% of the earned grade will be awarded.

2 Days late – 75% of the earned grade will be awarded.

3 Days late or more – a grade of 50 will be given.

Re-Testing Policy

Re-evaluation is allowed if a student scores below a 70 on a test or quiz. The maximum grade that can be earned on the re-evaluation is a 70. If the student does not score a 70 or better on the re-test, the higher of the two grades will be recorded.
