Make Up Work

It is the responsibility of the student to pick up their work out of the green folder that is hanging on the board due to an absence, both school and non-school related. Every day in class is very important and the student will be held accountable for any information missed during class time. They may come in before school, during advisory or after school to get notes or take a test that they may have missed. (Student with an excused absent) For each day a student has an excused absent the student will be given a day. Example: out Tuesday with an excused absent, student comes back to school on Wednesday. Student is given the work and it will be due Thursday.

Retests

Student who receive a grade below a 70 on a test will be allowed to retake the test for a grade of at least a 70. The time and date of the retest will be arranged between the teacher, parent and/or student.

Late Work

For everyday that an assignment is late it is 10 points deducted. Example: If a student had an assignment due on Wednesday and didn’t turn it in until Friday it is 20 points deducted.

FFA

Many people feel that showing a project is required in order to be in this class, however that is not the case. FFA is more than showing an animal, we have Leadership Development Events, Career Development Events, and Speaking events where your child will get firsthand experience in analytical thinking skills. Practice for those events will be before and after school. You can also paint pictures, bake, draw, take pictures and sew clothing items together for the Bell County Youth Fair. If you would like to participate in the Bell County Youth Fair we require you to attend the first FFA meetings. We have FFA meetings once a month after school and those dates can be found on the Troy FFA website. We will give the students time to sign up for these teams. The contest event dates are also on our website and each event does have dress code requirements.
