2. HOMEWORK - Each homework assignment should be dated and labeled. Homework may be checked for a daily grade or a pop quiz grade. However, I will NOT check homework every day; therefore, it is important that you complete the assignment each day and have it with you to be checked at the beginning of class. You will not receive any credit for homework that is late. If you have an excused absence, show me your homework on the DAY THAT YOU RETURN; otherwise, you will receive a zero. I will not ask you for it or remind you to make up your work.

3. MAKE-UP WORK – YOUare responsible for finding out about make-up work on the day you return to school by reading the make-up work notebook located on the table beside the podium. You may also find assignments on my school web page at countyhigh.com. (Just find my name under faculty directory.) You have TWO DAYS to make arrangements with me for making up missed assignments or tests. After that you will receive a zero. I will not remind you about make-up work. No work may be made up for an unexcused absence. After five absences each semester, you must present adoctor’s excuse to make up work. Tests, quizzes, or assignments announced prior to an absence will be taken or turned in on the day you return. If you miss any spelling/vocabulary tests, you will make them up during class on Fridays. All other make-up work such as homework or class assignments may be turned in during your class period. If you know that youare going tobe absent, get your assignments ahead of time.

You will also take a comprehensive final exam at the end of the year or term that will count as 20% of your average. You may be exempt from the semester exam if you follow the exam exemption policy as stated in your Student/Parent Information Guide. You will have many opportunities to earn grades each grading period through homework, tests, and quizzes.

For the second semester, you will have vocabulary words that come from a list of SAT words. You must have access to a dictionary at home (or on your phone or computer) to complete vocabulary work.
