Switch on Plasma Screen TV Using Panasonic Remote Control

SETTING UP THE SYSTEM

·  Switch on Plasma Screen TV using Panasonic remote control

·  Switch on Tandberg box (black switch at the back) if not on already

·  Make sure all the plugs are in. (These should not be disconnected at any time)

·  Press the TV Remote Control AV button (AV settings) – onto PC mode

·  If you just wish to use a laptop with the screen – plug in the cable which is also connected to the wall.

·  Press Presentation (blue button) on the Tandberg remote.

·  Press Function F5 (usually) on your laptop so the screen mirrors your laptop.

·  The camera will not be in operation unless you use the Call button on the remote.

Video Conferencing

Always have a practice run before the date of the video conference to make sure your connection is correct.

·  If you wish to have laptop view and self- view, go to Layout, if you keep pressing the button you will see the different options

·  Using the Tandberg remote control to navigate, click on green phone symbol which appears on the screen.

·  Put in the callers IP address, using * button to separate the numbers e.g. 143*167*36*210 (this is the IP for Firth Court video conference room) (see cics/videoconferencing to see if room is being used through their calendar)

·  or you can call Tandberg test site. (Google tandbergtestIP) to test visuals and audio.

·  If more than one address, press green button with phone symbol again and add in the next number.

·  Remember that the microphone is automatically switched ON, if you want to switch it off for a private discussion, press the mute button on the remote control.

·  Try to look into the camera rather than the screen

·  The screen will hold upto 4 screens/calls at a time.

·  The call can be cancelled by hitting the red button.

·  If people want to join with their android/apple mobile device – use app called ‘polycom video’.

·  JVCS is available for multiple calls/video conference – they will set up the calls, and offer phone support during the call if necessary

Remote Control Instructions

Switching the System On

• Using the remote control for your display device, press the standby or

on button

• If the videoconferencing system is powered off switch it on using the

power switch on the rear right of the unit

Positioning the Camera Prior to Placing a Call

• Press the X cancel button to remove any menus on the screen

• Press & hold ◄►▲▼ to move the camera left, right, up & down

• Press + or - to zoom the camera in and out

• If required, press the X Cancel button to return the menus to the screen

Making Calls

Making a video call to a number:

• Press the green handset call button

• Enter the number you wish to dial

• Press the green handset call button

Making a video call using the directory:

• Press the directory button 

• Use the ▲▼ to navigate to my contacts, press OK, use ▲▼ to

navigate to the contact you wish to call

• Press the green handset call button

Add another location to your meeting: (not available on all systems)

• Follow the same procedure as above

End a call:

• Press the red handset call disconnect

• Press the red handset call disconnect to confirm disconnection

During a Call

Positioning the camera:

• Press & hold ◄►▲▼ to move the camera left, right, up & down

• Press + - to zoom the camera in and out

Turing your microphone to mute and back on again:

• Press the yellow mic button, this will display an icon on the screen to

signify your mic is muted

• Press the yellow mic button to switch your mic back on again

Show a PC presentation:

• Connect the XGA cable to your laptop’s monitor socket and switch on the laptop

• Press and hold down the blue presentation button

• Use the ◄► to navigate to the PC icon and press the OK button

• Your presentation should now be visible on screen

Show a DVD/Video presentation:

• Switch on your DVD/video and load the disk/tape and press play

• Press and hold down the blue presentation button

• Use the ◄► to navigate to the VCR icon and press the OK button

• Your presentation should now be visible on screen

• Use the controls on your DVD/Video to control the device

Show a document or 3D object presentation:

• Place the document/object under the visualiser camera and switch on

• Press and hold down the blue presentation button

• Use the ◄► to navigate to the Doc Cam icon and press the OK button

• Your presentation should now be visible on screen

• Use the controls on your document camera to fine tune the image

Ending a presentation:

• Press and hold down the blue presentation button

• Use the ◄► to navigate to the main cam icon and press the OK button

• Your camera image should now be visible on screen
