Coaches Report:
Coach George:
Coaches went to a coaches convention and got great info, one thing they are bringing out of what was learned was to divide the swim level groups by age, no exceptions, and have no groups bigger than 20 kiddos. 78 kiddos in the water all together,
Coach Erin:
There are 12 hammerhead/thresher swimmers, Erin will determine who is in which group with a skills check and breast stroke. For Bull sharks, Krista and Erin are switching turns on writing work outs.
Coach Krista:
20-25 swimmers each day, swimming about 1200 yards a day, working on kick sets.
Athletes Report:
House of delegates met for two weekends and introduced area athlete reps, it was voted that all area teams will have a free market when it comes to holding swim meets, first come, first served. There was a new bylaw, regarding concussions, adopted through USA Swimming that a swimmer can not continue activity with the swim team with a suspected concussion or a significant hit to the head (this is not the technical or official wording) until cleared by a medical doctor.
Old Business:
We will have 166 kiddos on Saturday and 169 kiddos on Sunday for the harvest open, we will have a foot cart for the meet and the Highlands have volunteered to head up consessions. Barbara Noland has agreed to head up concessions.
Jana Wingate is working with the mentorship program and coming up with some fun things and projects for them.
Parent Groups are going great and getting the hang of it.
