The AMISH CHALLENGE

Award – Winner $1000.00, 1stAward of Merit $500.00, 2ndAward of Merit $500.00

The “Amish Challenge”, first conducted in NSW in 2009, has expanded into Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania, ACT and South Australia and is being held at some of these states most prestigious events.

This award is named after the Hungarian Puli, Australian Grand Champion, Canadian and American BIS and BISS Champion, Cordmaker Mississippi Mud - ‘Amish’. Amish left Australia with 37 Best in Show awards and ranked No 2 All Breeds. He was campaigned in Canada and America with similar results. With a career total of 80 Best in Shows to his credit ‘Amish’ was a great ambassador for his breed around the world and also helped to raise international awareness of the quality of pure bred dogs being produced in Australia.

The award, in his memory, honours those breeders who both own and show their own dogs. The breeder/owner/handler is a great characteristic of the dog sport in this country and is something that this award seeks to recognize.

RULES

  1. The competing dog must be breeder/owner/handled
  2. If the dog is co-owned it must be the breeder who handles the dog and such breeder must also be one of the registered owners.
  3. The breeder is the person/s whose is name is attached to the prefix at the time the litter was officially registered with the respective Canine Controlling body.

If the prefix is later transferred to other parties, it is the date of registration of the litter that determines the dog’s eligibility for the competition.

If the prefix is in co-ownership, multiple dogs belonging to that prefix maybe entered but, each must be owner/breeder/ handled.

  1. Any KENNEL PREFIX that has won this event, anywhere in Australia, is not eligible to enter the event again.
