Successful Junior Citizen Week held in Horsham District

Primary school pupils from across the district attended this year’s Junior Citizen Event held at the Drill Hall in Horsham between Friday 18 and Wednesday 23 March.

Junior Citizen is organised by the Horsham Community Safety Partnership, and teaches children about safety and health skills.

This year more schools attended the event than have ever done so before and there were more scenarios/inputs put on for them to visit. A combined total of 495 inputs (each lasting for 9 minutes) were given by all the organisations attending, the equivalent of 75 hours of safety messages being given to the children of Horsham District.

Neighbourhood Schools Officers PC Keith Beckley and PC Angie Keeley along with PCSOs from across the district spoke with more than 1,100 children over the four day event about keeping themselves safe when out and about.
