If you have concerns about your child, please contact the homeroom teacher. News letters will come from the classroom with info. If there is a bus concern, speak directly to the bus driver.
Each month the newsletter will be posted on the school website. If you require a hard copy please fill out the form on the bottom of this sheet and return to school.

PSSC stands for Parent School Support Committee It is a three year term and would be involved in a variety of discussions and decisions related to such things as education issues, the school improvement plan, and reviewing the school performance report, to name just a few. It looks at the school development as a whole, not personal issues. All parents who are not employees of the school but have children at the school are eligible to participate.
Our PSSC returning members are: Susan Cunningham-Chairperson, Hughanna Dunfield, Joan Babineau and Margaret Kenney-Brown and Wendy Humphrey. Our new District Education Rep is Mr. Rob Alexander.

Welcome Back to another great year at SCES!
Hot Lunch
We will be doing a quick 2-week hot lunch starting NOW! The calendar closes September 14.
This year we are using the home and school membership fees to help offset the cost of running the hot lunch site. The membership fees are $7 per family. At present, I had to tack it on to EVERY hotlunch order, you will see the $7 fee under account transactions. Please if you have multiple children at SCES only pay the fee once, I will issue you the necessary credits once you have paid. If you paid your Home and School Fees at the open house, you will receive a credit on the hot lunch system. If you paid via etransfer, you will receive a $7 credit. If you choose not to pay the $7 Home and School Fee you will not be able to order hot lunch.
The October Calendar will be live on September 14 and closes on September 21. I realize these two calendars are released very close to each other, but I need time to compile numbers and contact the suppliers.
Our menu choices for the first 6 weeks are as follows:
Monday – Chicken Burger from Chartwells
Tuesday – Cheese Pizza from Greco
Wednesday – Pancakes and Berries (Optional) Fruit type is dependent on availability
Thursday – Chicken Caesar Salad
Friday – Grilled Cheese with Carrots&Celery (Optional) Vegetable type is dependent on availability
We are trying a new item Grilled Cheese. This will replace subs this round. We are working on a replacement for subs, unfortunately our supplier raised their prices by about 30%. Keep the suggestions coming to Chantelle Roy (Our new Hot Lunch Coordinator). We discuss all the options that you give us and if they meet policy 711 and we can find a way to make it we will!
FREE GRILLED CHEESE!!!
Grades K, 1, and 2 and all of Ms. Robarts class will have a free grilled cheese for lunch on Thursday, September 14.
Grades 3 (not the children from Ms Robarts class), 4 and 5 will have free grilled cheese for lunch on Friday, September 15.
If you do not wish your child to have this meal please send a note to your classroom teacher.
