SURVEY HIGHLIGHTS 4/14/16 (393 RESPONSES)

1. Charleston and SF overwhelming choices; Austin, Denver & Chicago very close; overall ratings: Charleston, SF, Seattle, Austin, Savannah, Denver, Chicago, Santa Fe (some were irritated that we’re going to SD when it wasn’t listing in prior survey)

2. Q5 re productivity & morale – some were confused by the question, but we got many good responses

a. Very few concerned about quality of ME testimony -- 30%; main concerns:

b. production requirements (narrative: with need to do much more than 40 hrs/wk – SSA doesn’t respect our need for family and personal time)

c. directives re production and/or timeliness,

d. directives to chg status,

e. instruction requirements

f. inadequate quality & quantity of clerical support

g. in-office computer performance

h. response on PC performance at home misleading b/c 50% say n/a – appears many respondents don’t work at home – may need to ask Q specifically to those who TW

a. Mgmt needs to provide wifi so judges can stay in touch w/ fam and fr’s

b. Support staff working at home creating problems

c. Non-atty writers

d. Disrespect by mgmt – we’re hired b/c we’re good but we’re treated like idiots

4. Q9, eBB – 42% none (nb eBB cadre is asking me for survey feedback)

5. Q10, satisfaction w/ new judge training – most positive

6. Q13, more training on – medical & Y, vocational, SSA regs; very little interest in more eBB

7. Q14, eBB valuable? 44% yes, 38% no, 17% neutral

8. Q16 – 42% none or < 1 hr/mo; several said there was no eBB training at 3/16 session; several narr responses that don’t use b/c not TW’g -- ?
