Impartial careers education - survey for Year 11 pupils
This survey is to help you gather pupils’ views on your careers provision. It reflects the Principles of Impartial Careers Education set out in the Statutory Guidance on Impartial Careers Education (TSO, October 2009), and the Key Information and skills that underpin them.
You can use the outcomes to improve what you do and to inform SEF judgements about the extent to which your pupils develop workplace and other skills that will contribute to their future economic well-being and the effectiveness of the care, guidance and support that you provide.
You can customise the Word version of the survey on the CD-Rom before using it. For example:
- You may wish to replace the phrase ‘My school’ with the name of your school throughout.
- In question 2, you may wish to insert the name by which your individual learning plan is known.
- In question 4, you should insert the names of your local Connexions service, your local 14-19 prospectus, key local information sources and the name by which your transition support team is known.
- In question 5, you may wish to add examples of other qualifications that pupils can take.
- The reference to a Common Application Process (CAP) in question 10 applies only to those areas using them. If you are in such an area, you should insert the name by which your CAP is known.
- In question 13, you should insert the name of the person pupils should speak to if they are unaware of the support you provide when exam results are published.
