Overview of class:

We will be focusing on study skills and behaviors that can impact your school routine inside and outside of school. We will also support the campus instructional focus on the 21st century learner, study/ organizational skills, technology integration, and leadership to name a few. The work will revolve around setting goals, organizing, asking questions, and keeping track of your progress. We will have a daily warm-up which is generally academic vocabulary that is used in cross-curricular content areas or a focus on a specific study skill/strategy. Grades will be taken daily on the warm-ups and there will be a weekly grade for an agenda check. There will be time built into the class for homework assistance or reteach/assistance of concepts from content classes, but it is expected that there is a home routine of some time spent on homework and/or reading.

Classroom Procedures:

1.  Bring all required materials with you! You will not be permitted to leave the classroom to get supplies.

2.  Begin the warm up immediately upon entering the classroom.

3.  Take care of personal needs (restroom, locker, ect.) during the passing period.

4.  Be sure to include your name, date, and class period on all assignments.

5.  If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up missed work.

6.  A clean snack will be permitted the first 5 minutes of class and students must clean up after themselves.

7.  Absolutely no electronic devises unless given permission to use them (needs to be school related reason to use: Reading, GoogleApps, Evernote, etc).

8.  The bell does not dismiss you.

9.  If a visitor comes to the room, this is not a reason to stop class. Continue working.

10.  Do not walk around the room during class. Trash can be taken care of at the end of the period, and pencil sharpening should be taken care of before class starts.
