PASTORS REPORT SUPPLEMENT 2017
SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT OF PASTOR 2017
STATE OF THE CHURCH
Zion UMC continues to be a vibrant and healthy small country church. We are making progress in growing in spiritual graces.
The church here is active in outreach to members, families, youth, and our community at large. Zion UMC does a real good job of keeping most of our activities family friendly. By this I think it makes our church attractive to those out in the community. To mention just a few of them that take place .
- Annual hayride and wiener roast
- Fellowship Fish Fry
- Rural Community Thanksgiving service
- Christmas program
- Wabash Area Development Inc. --collected for their food pantry twice
- Guardian Center - helped support
- Supported local Angel Tree project with sponsoring 10 children this year.
- participated in the community Revival held at RIG Ministries
- joint Mother/Daughter banquet held with Crossville UMC
- Hosted Ice Cream Social for the White Count UMC Cluster
- participated with Crossville community churches for a end of summer Block Party
- No Child Left Hungry - We sponsored one week of the sack lunch program this year and served 820 sack lunches in a 4/day week
We have continued a community outreach project to families in need that have slipped through the cracks of the public programs, with a gift baskets once a month. We more than doubled our commitment to Two basket @ $100 each a month
I have completed Two Modules for the Course of study this year.
As the year has went by I have had many opportunities to minister to sick, those having surgeries, bereaved families, the incarcerated, people struggling with addictions, people surrendering the lives to Christ. During all these the Lord has blessed me by just using me to be a channel for His mercy, grace, and love. Let us pray that 2018 will be another productive year for Christ.
Because He Lives,
