· Early Registration…Just in case you did not notice, the spot for next session registration is on the bottom of your scoresheet. This is the last week for eight ball teams to take advantage of early registration. As always, there is a drawing for all teams that register before the last week of play. The winner of the drawing receives free food (Up to $30.00 worth) for their team the second week of next session. If you know your team is going to play next session, take advantage of the opportunity to win and register now!
· My team’s skill levels make it hard to play…That happens as your team members improve and their skill levels rise. If your team is in this predicament, here is a little help. Take your existing team and split it into two teams. (Adding some new players as well of course.) The Akron/Canton APA will allow each team two free weeks of play during their first session of play. We hope that helps with your decision.
· Top Gun Tournament…A Top Gun Tournament for the Fall & Spring session qualifiers will be held at Fiddlestix on August 14th,2010 at 12:00 noon. This will include both 8 & 9 ball players. Players will be in 3 skill level brackets and there will be cash and trophies for all winners.
· Nine Ball Doubles…Here are some of the specifics regarding the new nine ball doubles format. All teams principle players skill levels must add up to a combined skill level of 10 or less. A team may have a third “alternate” player so that in the event one of the team members cannot make a match, a forfeit will not be necessary. The match format will be; each player will play an individual match, then the final match is played Scotch Doubles style. Assuming we have sufficient participation, we would love to send a team to the National Tournament in Las Vegas. Call Scott for details.
· Wild Card Drawing…Attention all eight ball teams. The wild card drawing for all Akron divisions will be Friday, August 6th at 6:00 p.m. at I Love this Bar on Main St. Canton divisions will be Friday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. at Fiddlestix. As always, one player from your team must be present to draw. No person may draw for a team unless their name is on that team’s roster. All team fees must be current to participate, but if you are behind, you may pay past due fees immediately before the drawing.
· Next Session Dates…All divisions except Monday Nine-Ball will start the week of Sept. 6, 2010. Nine –Ball will start the week of Sept 13, 2010. The following formats are available:
1. Monday: Team Nine-Ball
2. Tuesday: Team Eight-Ball & Eight-Ball Doubles
3. Wednesday: Team-Eight Ball
4. Thursday: Team Eight-Ball & Nine-Ball Doubles
