Soon Memorial Day will be here and the summer season will be upon us. If you’re looking for an economic and convenient way to relax and enjoy the summer, try LakeNeepaulin. Located right here in Wantage, it’s convenient and close to home. Its expansive bathing beach with 100 feet of shore line is covered with tons of authentic South Jersey ocean sand, ideal for toddlers and young children, and close by there are plenty of shade structures for parents to supervise in comfort.
In addition to swimming, you can enjoy boating on LakeNeepaulin’s placid waters or reeling in a bass ora perch from among the plentiful fish that inhabit the lake. Thereare volleyball and basketball courts at the beach for your recreational pursuits. And throughout the summer, a variety of formal recreation programs are offered. Playgroup, held bi-weekly in July and August, offers beach/water games and arts and crafts for pre-school and early elementary school children. For pre-teens and teens, there are basketball clinics every Monday evening in July, and for adults there are bingos in July and August. A treat for the entire family is the ever-popular ice cream sundae night in mid-July, preceded by a Civil War Reenactment program. The family-favorite Beach Camp Out is held at the end of July and the season concludes with an annual pig roast with live entertainment by Chris Barnes’s Northeast of Nashville band.
Friends of LakeNeepaulin will hold an Open House, Saturday, June 23, 12-5 pmat the LakeNeepaulinbeach, to give the public an opportunity to examine and experience the facilities at LakeNeepaulin. The whole family can take a ride in a pedal boat, play volleyball, shoot hoops, or jump in for a refreshing swim. The annual membership fee is $150 per family. At present FOLN has four special discount memberships of $50 for first-time members, reducing their fee to $100. This special discount offer is available on a first come, first served basis.
