Rules and Qualifications:

I. The Applicant Must:

A. Be an active member of the FFA Chapter for 3 years. Final year must
be part of Summer Creek FFA and be in good standing.

·  A letter of proof of membership from the advisor of the other
schools FFA chapter must be submitted with the application.

B. Be in their senior year at Summer Creek High School.

C. Student Participation over the 3 year period of being part of FFA.

·  Have participated in at least 5 separate FFA Teams at the district or area level

·  Have completed 75 hours community service with the chapter

·  Have received or qualified to receive the Lonestar Degree with a minimum of 3 SAE projects.

·  All participation credits are accumulated over the time period the student is a member of FFA.

D. Turn in correctly completed application with all required signatures on time.

E. Have a Grade Point Average of a 3.0 at the time the application is submitted.

F. Must be scheduled to graduate with the class you entered in high school with, or

have graduated early.

II. Considerations:

A.  Completion of the application for scholarship does not guarantee its award, but if accepted for this scholarship, I understand that I will not receive the award until I have enrolled in a full time continuing education program above the high school level.

B.  If accepted for this scholarship, I understand that I must turn in documentation showing a tuition cost and then a check will be sent directly to the college or institution of your choice.

III. Additional Information:

A.  You are to turn in 3 Letters of Recommendation addressed to the SCHS FFA Booster Club. These should be from a variety of teachers, friends, community leaders, etc.. None of these letters should come from a relative or an Ag Teacher from your school.

B.  The students will be chosen based on a point based system. The point system is as follows:

Participation Points: 50 Points

Essay: 20 Points

Recommendations: 10 Points

Interview: 20 Points
