Signed Communication

  1. Compile all formative Understanding and Use of Sign rubrics, KWHL forms, Quizzes and Sign Practice Tracking Sheet from this course into a portfolio/ folder.
  1. Personal Reflection: Write a brief summary (1-2 pages double spaced ) reflecting on:
  1. Your signing abilities over the course of this learning option
  2. At least two things you have learned that you can apply in your role as a Education Assistant using sign communication with non-verbal hearing children.
  3. Your personal action plan for continuing to practice/learn signs. (be specific with details of when you will do it, how, with who, and what specific resources you plan to use).

Note: You must have a score of 2 or higher in all areas of the final session “Understanding and Use of Sign Rubric” to demonstrate minimal ability to understand and use signs for a “pass” in this course.

Total marks: 21
