The Post

This position will report to the both the Direct Marketing Officer (Rachel Spencer) and the 5 call centre supervisors.

The telephone campaign at King’s College London raises close to £100,000 each year to go towards all of our research projects (as mentioned in the campaign section above), student bursaries and scholarships, and our libraries. You will raise money for the College by speaking to previous graduates of the College and also parents of current students here, and asking for single and regular donations. During these calls you will always project King’s College London in a positive light, and whilst people will not donate during every call, you will try to ensure each person enjoys their call.

You will have personal targets set for each shifts, which will relate to the number of dials, completed conversations and donations. For the upcoming campaign these will be 80 dials, 8 contacts and 1 or 2 donations depending on the type of people you will be calling. We will always attempt to match up callers to graduates that studied in the same department as them, to help build a stronger rapport.

The call centre where all telephone calls are made is based at Drury Lane building:

You will not be able to apply for this job without being able to work in the call centre.

You will be expected to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week. There are 8 shifts carried out each week:

-Monday to Friday evening: 17.45 – 21.15

-Saturday: 13.30 – 17.00

-Sunday: 10.30 – 14.00 and 15.00 – 18.30

Upon being offered the role, you will be asked for your preference of shifts, and we will try to match these where possible.

You will be paid £9.15 per hour + holiday in this role, and will be paid weekly via the College’s temping agency:
