All Year 12 students complete the Otago one-year Health Sciences First Year course then apply for selection to Medicine, Dentistry, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Science and Pharmacy. The UMAT is one of the selection criteria required for admission to Medicine and Dentistry following the Health Sciences First Year.
