A twice yearly meeting to encourage and motivate ex students. There will be a talk (and sometimes demo) at the beginning of the meeting for one hour on a complementary therapy (i.e. we have had Metamorphic Technique, The Light Touch and now Hypnotherapy). A short talk from Jackie on current therapy news (i.e. CPD, career progression, building your business etc.). A chance to circulate and then Round Robin discussion – to brain storm problems, hear about any new workshops they have attended and any new ones they have heard of.

Maternity Reflexology
Designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of women’s fertility and pregnancy. Based on the work of leading author Suzanne Enzer, who has been teaching on Maternity Reflexology techniques around the world for over 20 years. Gill Thomson, the facilitator, underwent Susanne’s training and has combined this with her midwifery skills to create this course. The training enables participants to use the principles and practices of reflexology to support the processes of fertility and pregnancy. The course also includes information about the development of the Incoming Soul with its manifestation of the mother’s feel and reflexology care for the newborn baby.
Chinese Foot Massage and Lymphatic Drainage – (CentralLondonCollege)
Chinese foot massage uses creams to allow knuckles to work reflex area deeply for extra stimulation. There is emphasis on lymphatic drainage through massage and reflexology. Can be used on its own, or during reflexology treatment.

The purpose of the course is to Teach Qualified Reflexologists the best practise and methods of teaching Mothers how to give babyreflex to their babies.
Practical demonstrations are included and all participants are tested on their understanding and ability to apply these techniques in practise on one another.
All students are also taught the best practise to be used to set up groups of Mothers to be taught these techniques, in groups.
Charts and guide lines are included and supplied with all courses.
Diaries are supplied for Mothers to use to keep records of their treatment of their baby, for onward reports to their Health Visitors and medical advisers.
All Mothers sign individual consent forms for remaining responsible for the baby’s receipt of “babyrefles” techniques from those Mothers.

Your Health 2: Care of the Practitioner – Awareness, Boundaries and Beliefs - (Sarah Kuipers)
This series of four interactive, self-care workshops introduces and explores a wide variety of tools to help you set clear boundaries in all areas of your personal and professional life as a means of restoring work life balance and managing the demands of being a practitioner. The workshops aim to look at some of the underlying patterns and beliefs from the past that prevent you from setting clear boundaries and taking care of your own needs. By creating a life that nurtures you on all levels, not only will you thrive, but also your practice. The strategies on energetic protection, “disconnecting” from clients and managing empathy safely can help you remain vibrant, even when working with challenging clients. Experiential exercises will help each participant to discover which tools are most effective for them. Sarah Kuipers, the facilitator, is currently undertaking a Masters research study on stress in reflexologists and homeopaths and is keen to share many of the latest theories and self-care strategies to enable practitioners to thrive. Personal action plans and support buddies are encouraged in order to optimise continuing self-care.
