TSPC developed and maintains a website on suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention ( suicide prevention trainings;distributessuicidepreventiontoolkits;andcoordinatescommitteesand19 communitycoalitionsfortheimplementationofthestateplan.

Texaslaw(SB460,adoptedin2013)requiresthatminimumacademicqualifications for certified educators also require instruction in the detection of students with mentaloremotionaldisorders,andrequiresthatschooldistrictsprovideatleast
a one-time training for teachers, counselors, principals, and other appropriate personneltolearntorecognizestudentsatriskforsuicideorinneedofearlymental healthintervention.
Texaslaw(HB1386,adoptedin2011)encouragesschooldistrictstodevelopsuicide prevention plans, and requires that the Texas Department of State Health Services andtheTexasEducationAgencydevelopalistofbestpracticesprogramsanddeliver this list to schooldistricts.
