Proctorio Information

This course uses Proctorio which is an online test proctoring service that uses software that that works within your web browser to monitor test takers for suspicious behaviors. The system requirements for Proctorio are dependent on the exam settings. Most faculty set it up to verify identification showing your student ID with your face next to it to confirm your identity and may also require video and audio to confirm that you, the student, is indeed the registered student taking the exam.

No person is watching you take an exam, Proctorio, will store data and provide an automated suspicion report to your instructor, but NO Proctorio employee has access to any of the data. Regarding privacy, Proctorio uses zero knowledge encryption technology that ensures your information is encrypted when it leaves your computers, is transferred and then stored in the cloud. Proctorio is not collecting information from your computer and only runs when you are active in an exam. For more information on Proctorio, you can read the FAQ’s here:

If you areconcerned that the system can access your personal information on your computer or don’t have a computer with the correct system requirements, tablets are available for check-out from the library. You will need a valid student ID in order to check out the tablet.
