Job Description – Trust & Foundations Manager (maternity cover)

Salary:up to £28,250 per annum depending on experience

Band 6

Job Purpose

To source and secure funding from trusts, foundations and public sector funding sources to achieve project funding targets.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Contribute to development of projects with specific regard to fundraising potential
  • Develop and deliver an annual plan of activity in support of the RA’s strategic aims and the Development team’s fundraising strategy to achieve targets from public sector, trust and foundation sources (across all RA sites)
  • Produce well-written and persuasive cases for support for priority projects
  • Identify and research appropriate potential sources of funding
  • Deliver high quality applications to identified sources
  • Monitor and produce financial reports for grant agreements and deliver associated grant accreditation
  • Develop fundraising materials relating to public sector, trust and foundation giving including generation of print, website, e-mail, direct mail
  • Cultivate relationships with current, regular and future public sector, trust and foundation funders
  • Benchmark fundraising activity with peer / competitor organisations
  • Keep abreast of sector trends, changes in legislation and new grant opportunities
  • Cultivate internal relationships that cross team boundaries and seek to collaborate to achieve the RA’s strategic aims
  • Maintain and build partnerships with external contacts and museum partners
  • Actively support the work of the Development team and deliver specific objectives as identified by the Head of team

Budgets and Resources

  • Manage designated budgets ensuring value for money
  • Ensure that all income is managed as tax effectively as possible

Personal Responsibilities

  • Develop, cultivate and manage relationships with public sector, trust and foundation donors
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the organisation to build support for the public sector, trust and foundation strategy and the wider work of the Development team in-house

Reporting Structure

The post-holder will be a member of the Development team and line-managed by the Head of Development. The department plays an important role in the newly formed Public Engagement division.

Hours

This is a fixed term positon for one year.
