Now is a good time to THINK HABITAT for the future The chapter has trained controlled burners and special equipment for conducting controlled burnsfor chapter members and other people needing prescribed burns. We burned hundreds of acres this last spring. We have a hundred acres already for 2016 so contact us soon. Contact any of our Habitat Team to sign-up for burns, PF food plots, or our seed programs. The Sugar River Valley Chapter of Pheasants Forever will be holding our 29rd Annual Banquet on Saturday, November 12th at the Argyle Rod Gun Club. We will be having several raffles as well as a live auction. See the application form included to sign up in advance for our special “Ringneck Raffle” package. Doors open about 5, Dinner Catered by Skip about 6 with Program, Auctions and Raffle starting at 7:30

Annual Matt Grossen Youth Pheasant Hunt on Sunday, October 2nd

The SRV Chapter of Pheasants Forever, and Argyle Rod & Gun Club, will be holding our 16th Annual Pheasant Youth Huntat the Argyle Rod & Gun Club & adjacent land. All youth who have completed a Hunter Safety’s course or are a first-time adult hunters are encouraged to attend. The free, all day event, will start at 9amSUNDAY Oct. 2 at the AR&GC.Call Dave W 325-4606 or e-mail at with your questions.to reserve a hunting slot, sign-up as a mentor, sponsor, or ask any questions. We will again need many of you & your dogs to help out as mentors for the hunt.

Pollinator Patches and Prairie Instalation Last summer PF got our SRV Chapter a grant to work with Argyle Schools, The Driftless Area Land Conservancy and the Village of Argyleon plantingof Wildflowers for Butterflies and other pollinator insects around the school pond as well as part of the village park at the entrance to the DALC’s Erickson Wetland. The chapter is active here mowing trails, planting prairie, and helping with Environmental Ed.

This year we have started planting prairies and pollinator patches with a no-till drill and frost-seeding. We have been involved in plantings nearly ten projects and nearly 100 acres of grasses and wildflower pollinator patches
